In the quest to lure investors and tourists in the country, the Ministry of Trade and Industry will be launching ‘Wear Batakari Day’, which will take place at first Friday of every month.

The day for the declaration is slated for September 04 2015, at a ceremony dubbed “The grass is greener” an initiative of the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority.

This initiative is a replication of “Friday wear” which seeks to encourage people to wear African print every Friday as a way of promoting made in Ghana goods, instituted by the Former President John Agyekum Kuffour’s administration.

The initiative is part of the process to redeem the image of the Savannah Accelerated Development Authority (SADA) which was hit by a gargantuan corruption scandal.

As part of this rebranding of the SADA initiative, a fully packaged road show will be developed, starting in Accra with a month long experience hosted in the Office of the World Bank Group Ghana. After the month, it will move throughout the country stopping at every regional capital to share insights and educate people on the SADA Zone.

SADA is an independent agency for coordinating a comprehensive development agenda for the northern savannah ecological zone in Ghana.

The area comprises the three Northern regions of Ghana namely, Upper East, Upper West and the Northern Region.

SADA constitutes Ghana’s response to effects of climate change associated with floods and drought.
