Kim Davis has decided to make a martyr out of herself based on a view that she can treat other people lesser than herself.

Ms Davis has been insisting that since the US Supreme court passed the ruling legalising same seks marriages, she cannot in good faith hand out licenses to gay couples as it contradicts her religious beliefs.

She was sued by some of the couples, and US District court judge David Bunning ordered her to deliver the licences. She still refused, and was held in contempt this afternoon by Judge Bunning.

“The court cannot condone the willful disobedience of its lawfully issued order,” Judge Bunning said. “If you give people the opportunity to choose which orders they follow, that’s what potentially causes problems.”

“Her good faith belief is simply not a viable defence. Mrs Davis took an oath. Oaths mean things.”

Ms. Davis tearfully testified that she had not hesitated to stand by her religious views and defy the courts. “I didn’t have to think about it,” she said. “There was no choice there.”

She says she sincerely believes that issuing licenses to gay couples would damn her soul to hell.

“You can’t be separated from something that’s in your heart in your soul.” She said

“I promised to love Him with all my heart, mind and soul because I wanted to make heaven my home.”

The suing couples asked the judge to impose fines and not jail time, but Bunning disagreed, saying a fine would not be enough to force her to comply.

She would be released once she complies with the court order and issues the licenses.

The funny thing is it’s highly likely Ms Davis is just another Christian hypocrite, cherry picking the parts of the Bible she likes. She’s thrice divorced, and fathered a child for her third husband, whilst still with her first husband. That child was adopted by her second husband in this bizzare menage.

This is the woman claiming to take a stand against gay people. Jesus explicitly condemned divorce in his teachings, never mentioned a word about being gay. The capacity of the human brain for cognitive dissonance is completely staggering.
