We complain a lot about bad governance in Africa, forgetting that we are the wheels on which governance runs—and similarly, we blame those in high power for messing up our countries, when in fact we contribute greatly to whatever mess we find ourselves in…

In Ghana and Nigeria (and all parts of Africa), people turn up to work whatever time they want—and leave whenever they please. And yet, these are the same people who would talk bitter about stagnant economies, throwing stones at the elected representatives for bad work done.

In the below video, “Nigeria’s Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose on Monday 31 August paid a surprise visit at some offices where he humiliated over 31 civil servants caught coming late to work. These workers could be seen kneeling on the ground: you could hear them crying—as they beg not to be SACKED.”

This is the order of the day everywhere in Africa, especially at those government jobs—people take the piss and do the very minimum.

It’s sad seeing grown up men and women on the floor but to be frank, they deserve that and even more. They should have just been SACKED—after all, there are many more people out there looking for jobs…

Watch the video below and tell us what you think!

Nigeria's Ekiti State Governor, Ayodele Fayose on Monday 31 August paid a surprise visit at some offices where he humiliated over 31 civil servants caught coming late to work. These workers could be seen kneeling on the ground: you could hear them crying. Is that the way forward for Africa? Should other states/countries follow such an example? What's your opinion?
