Ace broadcaster Abeiku Santana failed to join the NDC parliamentary race despite making lots of noise to the contrary.

However, despite all eyes being on him to join the race, he failed to even pick up his nomination forms as at 1700 GMT on Thursday, September 10, when nominations were closed.

It’s not entirely clear why after all the hype, Abeiku did not pick up the forms. Most people had taken it for granted that he was contesting.

NDC Mfantseman West deputy constituency secretary has an interesting take on why this happened.

“I am sure he conducted his own research and found out that the party chairman was solid on ground and hence knew he would lose if he contests…so he decided to withdraw to save his reputation,” he told Asempa FM.

The NDC primaries are slated for November 7.
