The BBC Says President Mahama’s Nickname in Ghana is A GOAT | How Come We Didn’t Know?

President Mahama shocked Ghanaians when he said he has become inured to all the many strikes against his government–just as a dead goat wouldn’t give the heck about a knife.

These were exactly President Mahama’s words as reported;

“I have seen more demonstrations and strikes in my first two years. I don’t think it can get worse. It is said that when you kill a goat and you frighten it with a knife, it doesn’t fear the knife because it is dead already.”

However, BBC’s Accra based reporter-Sammy Darko wrote that ‘GOAT’ has become the official nickname of President Mahama, and that even a child in Ghana knows this as the nickname of the President.

The question is; how come we did not know the president is now called a GOAT? We thought the closer to this was that, he is sometimes put in the same sentence with ‘dead goat syndrome.’

Anyway, what’s our business with this?
