Rapper Fetty Wap (born Willie Maxwell), was involved in a motorcycle accident that left him hospitalised in his hometown on Saturday.

The 25 year old was riding in Paterson, New Jersey, when an attempt to overtake didn’t end well; his cycle colliding with an incoming vehicle which he did not see.

He was rushed to a local hospital where he received treatment. A rep for the star told TMZ: “Fetty Wap was involved in an accident earlier today. He was treated at a local hospital and is in stable condition”

Wap shot to prominence after his first single ‘Trap Queen’, went platinum. In August, he became the first male rapper with three songs occupying the top 20 slots on the Billboard Hot 100 chart since Eminem in 2013, and also became the first male rapper to have concurrent singles reach the top 10 since Lil Wayne in 2011.
