Enam Honya, a young graduate nurse suffering from vitiligo, a condition that has changed her skin—she is  fast losing the pigment of her skin has shared her touching but difficult experience.

Speaking to Joy News, she spoke about the stigma she faced during her school days and how she had no friend during the early part of her education.

In fact, she said during the early stages of the condition, some people suggested it was witchcraft—typical of Africans. When we don’t understand anything, we attribute it to a god, a God or witchcraft.

Enam, 23, looks different in skin to us but she is a strong woman and at heart, she is just like all of us.

Her strength can be seen in the fact that she has accepted who she is and has decided not to hide her condition—rather, educate others about it and freely talk about her experience.

We wish her well and the others who may be suffering from this condition.
