Mariah Carey has put on her directors cap for this X’mas, directing a Christmas movie for Hallmark.

The movie, titled ‘A Christmas Melody’, would see Carey making her debut as a director behind the camera.

The movie commenced shooting on Tuesday in Cincinatti, Ohio. According to reports, Carey had only one request before agreeing to sign on.

According to TMZ, “Mariah had only one request, her favorite actress from her favorite movie star in the flick; Lacey Chabert, who played Gretchen Weiners in “Mean Girls”.

Carey would not appear in the movie, but her music is set to be used throughout the production.
