Nicki Minaj Speaks On Drake-Meek Mill Beef: ‘You Don’t Want To Choose Sides Between People You Love’

Nicki Minaj graced a cover feature for the New York Times magazine, and she had a lot to say.

As blunt and uncompromising as ever, Nicki has had to deal with very public feuds between some of the most important men in her life. The biggest so far this year, was the one between her boyfriend Meek Mill and labelmate and longtime friend Drake.

The pair beefed for a while after Meek Mill accused Drake of not writing his own raps. The Toronto MC replied with a couple of tracks and was unanimously declared winner of the bout.

Minaj, though, said it was not that fun for her watching two men she loves fight so.

“I hate it, it doesn’t make me feel good.” She said

“You don’t ever want to choose sides between people you love. It’s ridiculous. I just want it to be over.”

Speaking further, on another feud that affects her, Lil Wayne-Birdman, she said it’s between them. And she blew off her top when the interviewer insinuated she thrives on the drama.

‘‘That’s disrespectful. Why would a grown-a** woman thrive off drama? What do the four men you just named have to do with me thriving off drama? Why would you even say that? That’s so peculiar. Four grown-a** men are having issues between themselves, and you’re asking me do I thrive off drama?”

She also had some choice words for Miley Cyrus, who criticised Nicki Minaj for complaining about not getting nominated for the top award at the MTV VMA’s. She called Cyrus a b*tch on the VMA stage, and spoke about her here as well.

‘‘The fact that you feel upset about me speaking on something that affects black women makes me feel like you have some big balls. You’re in videos with black men, and you’re bringing out black women on your stages, but you don’t want to know how black women feel about something that’s so important?

“Come on, you can’t want the good without the bad. If you want to enjoy our culture and our lifestyle, bond with us, dance with us, have fun with us, twerk with us, rap with us, then you should also want to know what affects us, what is bothering us, what we feel is unfair to us. You shouldn’t not want to know that.’’ She emphatically ended.
