People often assume that possessing that kind of fair skin that Juliet possesses makes everything easier for you. After all, we delight in treating foreigners with a level of deference a fellow Ghanaian would never merit in our eyes.
The actress however, disagrees. Speaking in this interview, she said her colour acts as a drawback sometimes. Especially in relationships…
“Being mixed race has drawbacks in a wider context too. What people refuse to see is that when you’re mixed race you don’t have everything come easy to you.
“I have that issue with guys. They think you’re so pretty and attractive, you’re always going to have other guys come around you and you can never be trusted… you can never be in a serious relationship.”
She further posited that not only do guys not take you serious as a partner, they actually just use the fair girls and dump them.
“Men have that mentality, they just use you for a period of time to show off but when it comes to making you a wife, it’s a problem. And I have a lot of mixed race friends that go through the same problem”
Wow, that’s some deep social anthropology from Juliet right there; she knows it all. That’s why she caps off the interview with this gem on how she’s not had things easy at all…
“Because of my complexion, I’ve suffered a lot. If I have a role to play, say the lead character’s parents are black, they’ll tell me because I’m mixed race, I can’t play the role, I have to play the friend of the lead character and they’ll bring a dark-skinned girl to play the same role.”
Life is so unfair.
Girl, that’s the reality; a girl like you thinks any guy she dates or marries does so out of favour to such a guy, erroneously believing that there are lots of guys out there & better than that guy who would do anything to have & please her.
She comes off as really unintelligent, men will cheat women in spite of colour or whatever. What is she mixed with? Isn’t she just black but light skinned? This whole light skinned/dark skinned thing is really annoying now.
