Black Stars Held To Stalemate Against Canada In International Friendly

The Black Stars took on Canada’s Canucks in a friendly game at the RFK Stadium in Washington DC Tuesday night.

The game ended in a 1-1 stalemate, after first half goals from both sides and a sterile second half.

Midfielder Marcel De Jung gave Canada the lead midway through the first half, when his 35 yard drive snuck into the top corner with Ghana goalie Razak Brimah left stranded.

The lead did not last too long though, with the Stars equalising through Albert Adomah just before half time. He slid onto a pass from midfield, and slid the ball under Canada’s goalie.

Both sides created chances in the second period, but neither could kill off the game.

Coach Avram Grant took the game as an opportunity to try out alternatives to his regular squad, with tryouts for players like Albert Adomah, Gideon Baah, and the US based Kwadwo Poku.
