Accra Hearts Of Oak Set To Appoint Japanese Kenichi Yatsuhashi As New Head Coach

ken

Accra Hearts of Oak are in the market for a new coach, and seems to have settled on an unknown quantity that would do very little to pacify enraged fans.

The club have settled on Japanese American coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi, who is set to be officially announced as their new manager in the coming days. Yatshuhashi touched down in Ghana on Sunday to finalise negotiations with the club.

Hearts have been in horrible form the past few seasons, far from the glory days of old; and fans are not in a charitable mood. They finished the just ended season in 13th, having flirted with relegation for much of the season.

Kenichi holds a US Soccer Federation National “A” Coaching License, and has been working with Aspire Academy for Sports Excellence in Doha since September 2014.

Kenichi, who moved to the USA in 1988 and returned to Japan in 2011, started coaching in 1992 and handled Borough of Manhattan Community College and ASA Institute in New York.

The impending appointment has enraged Eddie Ansah, who handled the team as interim manager and was hoping to be given the nod, leading to his resignation.
