The issue of gays and lesbians is one that would probably not get acceptance from Africans anytime soon, perfectly epitomised by Mr Ibu’s responses during a recent interview.

The funny actor said homos*xuals are like viruses that are destroying the movie industry in Nigeria. According to him, they are more widespread than people think.

“I fight vehemently against homosexuals; both gays and lesbians because these are viruses in the industry that kill the spirit. It is not good at all.” He said in a recent interview.

The actor further noted that when people complain about s*xual harassment in the industry, it’s mainly  from people of the same gender. He said he had been the victim himself of a man hitting on him.

“Men harass themselves, and women harass themselves, so they are wonderfully preparing themselves for the devil, and I tell you, they will all go to hell.”

“The man that approached me will never come close to me again in his life because I humiliated him publicly. I called him out, and shouted his name everywhere. Besides, if it was by looks, nobody would approach me because I’m not fine”

John Okafor, popularly known as Mr Ibu, is married to Stella Maris Okafor, with whom he has four children. Apparently he was not too ugly for her.
