The ruling National Democratic Congress (NDC), has decided to postpone their upcoming Presidential and Parliamentary primaries from November 7 to November 21.
The decision was taken at an Executive Committee meeting which took place on Monday, November 2. General Secretary Johnson Asiedu Nketia announced the decision.
He said the party had taken the decision due to challenges with vetting, printing of ballots and other preparations that need to be addressed.
The decision had been expected, after strong challenges to the electoral roll disrupted the process in constituencies such as Ledzokuku in the Greater Accra Region.
The primaries would now take place on Saturday November 21, two weeks after the originally scheduled date.
