The Rolling Stones are one of those treasures of times past that the world produces too few of these days.

The British band, originally composed of Brian Jones (guitar, harmonica), Ian Stewart (piano), Mick Jagger (lead vocals, harmonica), Keith Richards (guitar), Bill Wyman (bass) and Charlie Watts (drums); were formed in London in 1962, before become a worldwide phenomenon down the decades.

Having gone through several iterations and now pretty elderly, the group are attempting a comeback. They haven’t recorded new music since 2005, and Keith Richards told the Sunday Times Magazine that they are working on churning out some new songs.

“These guys aren’t getting any younger, but at the same time, they’re getting better. I’d love to shove them in the studio in April, hot off the road.”

The group are set to tour South America early 2016, and Richards said they recently met in London to discuss their plans.

71 years old now, Richards admitted he never fathomed he’d get this far.

“It’s my turn for growing old. I never thought I’d get this far. Now, I have to think about this and wonder what to do with it.”

The band is currently composed of Richards, Mick Jagger, Charlie Watts, and Ronnie Wood.
