Real Madrid forward and once rumoured beau of Rihanna– Karim Benzema could be in some big trouble- in a case involving a s*x tape, extortion, and a France national teammate.

Police questioned the Real Madrid superstar in Versailes, trying to discover what role he might have had to play in the threatened release of a s*x tape involving Mathieu Valbuena, who still plays in France with Olympique Lyon.

Some individuals who came into possession of the s*x tape involving Valbuena called him- and threatened to release the tape if they aren’t compensated enough.

Benzema is said to have had a chat with his colleague about the tape last October, during training for an European cup qualifier. Police are trying to decipher whether he was giving Valbuena advice on how to handle the blackmail attempt or trying to extort him.

The striker faces up to five years in prison if convicted of extortion, although his lawyer thinks it’s highly unlikely.

He said the footballer turned himself in because he wanted to clear the air on the issue.

“When his name was mentioned by the press, Karim Benzema immediately let the investigating judge know he was available to investigators,” lawyer Sylvain Cormier said.

Three men have been arrested in connection with the attempt to extort the footballer, with one of them being close to Valbuena and having access to his phone.

Another former footballer, Djibril Cisse, was also detained in connection with this case last month, but was later released.
