Former English football star, David Beckham has been crowned as People Magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” for 2015.

Beckham speaking after Jimmy Kimmel broke the news on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” on Tuesday Night said; he was surprised to hear about the news—and that’s the best moment in his career.

Stealing the bragging rights from Chris Hemsworth (who was named as 2014 Sexiest Man Alive), Beckham said the honor was “the best moment of his career” and thanked a few people for making it possible.

“I would obviously like to thank my parents for bringing me into this world,” he said. “I would also like to thank my hairdresser, my stylist, photoshop…”

Beckham follows the likes of Manroon 5 frontman, Adam Levine 2013 winner—and Australian actor, Chris Hemsworth who won in 2014.

“I never feel that I’m an attractive, sexy person,” said Beckham in his People interview. “I mean I like to wear nice clothes and nice suits and look and feel good, but I don’t ever think of myself that way.”

The retired footballer is married to designer and Spice Girl singer-Victoria Beckham. They have brought forth four children: Brooklyn, Romeo, Cruz and Harper.

David Beckham was listed as the highest-paid player in the world in 2013, earning over $50 million in the previous year.

He made 115 international career appearances before announcing his retirement from active football.
