Ghanaian hiplife artiste, Barima Sidney has cautioned the youth of Ghana as the country’s 2016 elections draws nearer.
The ‘African Money’ hitmaker said politicians only think about their parochial interest, therefore it’s not of any worth for the youth to waste their time and energy on them.
He advised that it will be beneficial for them to work and die by doing God’s work—instead of dying for political parties.
“It is never worthy to die for any politician because they are all the same, today you are with them, you do everything for them but tomorrow when they get the power, they will forget all what you did for them. They keep lying to us and using us to get what they want. I’m appealing to the youth especially not to use their time and energy to fight for politicians but rather use their time and energy to do God’s work and die for Him instead because if one dies in Christ, the person’s soul will be saved by God.”
Barima Sidney, who is notable for composing politics related songs which sometimes criticize the work and commitment of politicians, revealed he is ready to welcome any political party who would like to use any of his songs during the campaigning season.
According to him, good name is better than riches so he is very cautious not to affiliate himself with any political party, but ready for business.
“My doors are opened to all political parties who want to use my old songs for campaign in 2016 but will not add my image or endorse any party,” he said.
