Australian actor, Chris Hemsworth has a big heart—and his selfless deed has won him the hero of his family.
The actor’s younger brother Liam Hemsworth disclosed in a recent interview with The Independent that, his ‘big bro’ Chris, surprised their parents’ by paying all their debt without their knowledge.
According to him, Chris later called his dad to check his bank account before he became aware of what has transpired.
“[My father] called my brother Chris back and said, ‘I don’t know how to feel. Since I left home, I have had debts and I thought I’d be paying them off until I died and have this weight hanging over me, and now to have them completely cleared,’” Liam said, admitting he gets emotional recounting the story.
“They are so happy now and able to spend more time with us,” the Hunger Games star continued. “I would love to be able to do something for my parents like that.”
Liam who is an ambassador for the Australian Childhood Foundation says his brother is his mentor.
“If you want to be a good person who adds to society, you have responsibility. That is something I take very seriously,” Liam said.
Chris Hemsworth said in a recent interview that he will donate proceeds from the premiere of his new drama ‘In the Heart of the Sea’ to the Australian Childhood Foundation, an organization that works to save children from abuse, neglect and family violence—according to him, his decision to reach out to the children is to inform them that what they are passing through is not their fault—and goes beyond their strength.
