South African-Rapper AKA Says He Likes Nigerian Women

South African rapper, Kiernan Jarryd Forbes popularly known as AKA, has revealed in a recent interview that he likes Nigerian women so much that he might even relocate to the country someday.

Dishing out on why he has such a soft-spot for Nigerian women, the 27-year-old rapper said: “I like Nigerian women because they are sassy and go-getters; they know what they want and are not afraid to go for it.

“I could live in Nigeria, but I don’t want you guys to get too used to me, so I’ll just be visiting and spend at most, some months for now,” he revealed in an interview with Showtime.

The “Do It” hitmaker declined to open up on his upcoming projects; stating that it would be a surprise.

“I’ve worked with a couple of Nigerian artistes, and there are many others I’ll like to work with, but I don’t want to let the cat out of the bag yet.”

AKA, who started his musical career with rap group Entity in the year 2000 embarked on a solo career after the group was disbanded in 2006.

AKA and his group with their hit track “Touch N Go” won a nomination in 2005 for “Best African Hip Hop” in the KORA Awards.

He began his solo career with in 2009 with hits like “Mistakes”, “In My Walk” and “Do It” with the latter making it to number 1 on the South African 5FM Top 40. He won Metro FM Music Awards for “Best Newcomer”, “Best Hip Hop” as a solo act and “Best Produced Album” for his debut Altar Ego. It is then that he was dubbed “Prince of South African Rap” by one of the SA newspapers. He also won “Best Dressed man” during the GQ Awards in South Africa alongside Oscar Pistorius.

AKA who is regarded as one of the giant rappers in South Africa was certified Gold by the Recording Industry of South Africa for shipping over 20,000 copies of his sophomore album “Levels” domestically.
