The final list of players to contest for the 2015 African Player of the Year Award has been revealed, and Ghana’s Andre Ayew makes the final three man list.
Ayew would be vying for the top award with Ivorian Yaya Toure and Gabonese speedster Pierre Emerick Aubameyang.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF) had earlier released a ten man shortlist, and the list was trimmed to three- with the final list revealed at a press conference in Abuja on Monday.
Toure, four time African Player of the Year, recently won the BBC African Player of the Year Award, and is gunning for a record fifth award. He captained Ivory Coast to Cup of Nations glory in January.
Ayew has had a great year, playing a key role in the Stars’ run to the AFCON finals, before making a move to England in the summer, where he had a blistering start with new club Swansea.
The award ceremony comes off in Abuja on 7 January 2016.
