The Ghana Broadcasting Corporation’s television broadcast to the Volta Region has been cut due to the fact the ECG has cut supply of electricity to two of its transmission stations in the region.
Ghana Broadcasting Corporation’s sites at Akatsi and Ametefe’s electricity supply were cut off because the corporation owes the ECG GHC720,000—and has failed to make payments.
According to TV3 Network;
“Deputy Minister of Communications, Dr. Ato Sarpong revealed this when he appeared before Parliament to answer questions on what accounted for the cut in television transmission as well as the cause of reduction in the hours of radio transmission by the national broadcaster to the region.”
According to the Communication Minister, Dr. Ato Sarpong arrangements have been put in place to agree on a resettlement plan with the ECG.
