Late singer David Bowie had a very unusual request for how his remains should be handled, which has already been carried out to the fullness of his instructions.
A private ceremony was held in New York to cremate his remains, without any friends or family present.
He had instructed his family on this measure, saying that he wanted to leave this earth “without any fuss”
The cremation was carried out shortly after his death on Sunday.
A source in New York told the Mirror: “There is no public or private service or a public memorial. There is nothing.”
“In many respects you don’t need a memorial or service to remember David by…you have his music instead.” Another source told the British tabloid.
“He would have wanted to just disappear with no fuss, no big show, no fan-fare. This would totally be his style.
“His last album Blackstar was very much his goodbye to fans instead.”
A publicist for the singer told the BBC they were “neither confirming nor denying” the story.
Bowie died on Sunday after battling cancer for the past eighteen months. The 69 year old had released what turned out to be his final album, ‘Blackstar’, on January 8, to coincide with his birthday.
Those fans petitioning God to bring him back are in for one hell of a disappointment.
