Black Stars and Chelsea winger Christian Atsu is set to leave the British side for yet another loan spell, this time joining Levante in the Spanish Primera Liga.
Atsu confirmed the deal to the BBC on Sunday afternoon, before Chelsea beat London rivals Arsenal 1-0 in a cagey Premier League clash.
“I have wished the team good luck for the game (against Arsenal). I have told the players I am going to Spain for a new challenge. I am happy to have found another club,” he said.
This would be Atsu’s third loan spell since joining Chelsea, with previous unsuccessful stints at Everton, and Bournemouth- where he spent more time on the treatment table than on the training pitch.
The Spanish league would be more suited to his style- as he desperately needs to re-establish his qualities, or risk becoming another Ghanaian player to flame out after joining a big club too soon (Dominic Adiyiah)
