Former UFC Champion Ronda Rousey Says She Entertained Suicidal Thoughts After She Lost Her Title

Ronda Rousey was thought of as invincible in the ring, after she started her UFC 135 pound division career with an historic unbeaten run.
Until last year, when Holly Holms knocked her out in round two and took away her title.
Rousey’s cocky attitude throughout her career meant for her, that humiliation was almost too much to bear. In an appearance on Ellen, she revealed she actually considered suicide during her low point, immediately after the fight.
“I got clipped in the first exchange, so I was knocked out on my feet the first time I got hit.
“To be honest, I was down in the medical room in the corner and I was like, ‘What am I anymore if I’m not this?’ I was literally sitting there, thinking about killing myself. In the exact second, I was like, ‘I’m nothing, what am I going to do anymore? No one gives a sh*t about me without this.’” She told Ellen.
According to her, it was only the sight of her partner that saved her from the dumps.
“To be honest, I looked up and saw my man, Travis (Browne, also a UFC fighter), and thought, ‘I need to have his babies, I need to stay alive [laughs].’
“I haven’t told anyone that except him. That’s what I was thinking, I was meant to have him when I was at my lowest. I don’t know if I would have made it without him. I really do believe I’m still undefeated because being defeated is a choice. Everyone has losses in their life, but I choose to always be undefeated.”
Rousey lost by a second round knockout to Holly Holms at UFC 193 last November, losing her title. Prior to that, she was considered the biggest star in Ultimate Fighting due to her unbeaten record, landing several Hollywood roles, including in Furious 7.
