Reginald Kojo Ainooson, one half of X-Factor darlings Reggie and Bollie, has come out to speak about the scandal involving him trying to bang a British girl– Marie Asemota.
According to Reggie, the entire thing was a manufactured scandal- he claims some of the audios released were edited and that he was friends with the girl for only a short time.
Reggie was speaking on the Entertainment Review on Peace Fm.
“Most of the stories that were put out there wasn’t really true, some of the audio tapes that were released were all lies. They were well edited audios but at the end of the day, we learnt from it and I thank God that I didn’t get into any intimate relationship with her and I didn’t do anything physical with that particular woman.”
Reggie added that the whole thing was a ‘silly mistake’- a byproduct of their X-Factor success.
“It was a silly mistake on my part and I will say that it was something that the fame that we got, those are some of the things that came with it”.
Reggie went on to blame the whole thing on people wanting to bring his name into disrepute- adding that luckily for him his family has put the whole thing behind them.
“I have learnt my lessons from it and we’ve moved on. Luckily enough, we’ve got very supportive wives who are always behind us so we are fine and we are really happy”.
After a sensational run on X-Factor that ended only in the final, Reggie and Bollie became the darling of people around the world. It seems the father of three took advantage of that, as leaked text messages and audios showed him wooing Asemota and trying to have s*x with her.
After the hit to his brand this scandal brought, Reggie now says it was made up by his enemies in an attempt to discredit him. Are we supposed to believe that as the whole truth, even though he admitted to contacting the girl and also called the whole thing a mistake?
