When you let these superstitious beliefs get to your head too much, this is what happens- when anything that happens has to be attributed to the supernatural.
It’s a backwards mentality that never leads to any problems being solved in this country. In this case we know the driver was speeding, the car was possibly overloaded, and he might or might not have ignored brake problems– instead we are to discount all these and believe the gods did it, so no measures would be taken to ensure these problems do not lead to an accident on such a scale again.
A spiritualist in the Brong Ahafo Region, Mallam Legbarh, supposedly the Municipal Chairman of the Northern Sector Spiritualist and Herbalist Association, has told Adom fm that the recent Kintampo accident was caused by the gods of the Kintampo waterfalls because they have been defiled and not appeased.
According to him, tourists who visit the waterfalls defile the place by engaging in immoral activities, and that the gods have not been appeased for a long time, thus the accident is them unleashing their wrath for the right thing not being done.
According to him, the chief of Kintampo has to perform some rituals to appease the gods- presumably so they do not cause any more deaths.
Yeah. Now all we need is to go carry out some Chrisitain prayers there to cast out the evil ‘gods’. The white man’s god is more powerful than ours right?
Or we could come back to the real world, implement real world solutions and leave the superstitious people to battle each other.

  1. why bring in Christianity in this matter. The Mallam addressed the issue based on his believes, what has that got to do with “Christian prayers” are u that daft to criticise the Mallam.
