Rumours have been circulating the past few days that One Direction star Liam Payne is dating UK singer and X Factor judge Cheryl Fernandez-Versini. While many, including myself thought this was literally a sick joke from the press, Liam has come out quickly to confirm that they are indeed a couple.
Liam Payne, 22, took to his Instagram Sunday afternoon to confirm the shocking news that he and Cheryl are an item.
In the black and white photo, a shirtless Payne cozies up to his new girlfriend, who is donning a black and white stripped shirt.
Liam and Cheryl first met in 2008, when the 14-year-old Liam auditioned for the X-Factor.
Liam called it quits with longtime lover Sophia Smith last October while Cheryl, who is still married, separated from her French husband Jean-Bernard Fernandez-Versini after only 14 months together.
