Legislators in the Mexican capital of Mexico City have adopted a resolution aimed at getting the Federal government from banning real estate mogul Donald Trump from entering the country ever again.
The proposal was tabled in Parliament Wednesday, and passed through the house unanimously, the Huffington Post reports.
“What we’re saying is that if he wants to build a wall so that Mexicans can’t enter his country, then he is not welcome in our country,” José Manuel Delgadillo of the conservative National Action Party told WorldPost. “What we need now is for President Peña Nieto to make a strong statement condemning Mr. Trump’s anti-Mexican comments.”
Donald Trump has built his campaign on marginalising minorities, but Hispanics were the first to suffer his insults, way back when he launched his campaign.
Trump claimed that all those coming from Mexico into the US were ‘rapists and criminals’, some of whom, he assumed, were ‘good people.’
Since then, he has expanded his rhetoric, saying he would build a wall along the Southern border and make Mexico pay for it. In recent times, Mexican politicians, including former Presidents, have been hitting back hard against Trump.
The billionaire is well on his way to clinching the Republican nomination, having picked up victories in majority of the states that has voted so far.
