Football arguments between friends can get pretty intense, but ‘stabbing’ is just taking it to an insane level of intense.
A Nigerian man in India is in police custody, after his friend died following an altercation that was all began by an argument over who was the better player between Cristiano Ronaldo and Lionel Messi.
The incident occurred on Saturday in a surburb of Mumbai, the BBC reports.
21 year old Michael Chukwuma got into the heated argument with his fellow Nigerian, 34-year-old Obina Durumchukwu, over which of the two was the best player in the world. Obina threw a glass into Michael’s face, who used it to assault him, later leading to his death.
“They were discussing football players. One is a fan of Messi and the other was for Ronaldo,” a police inspector said, according to the BBC.
“During the conversation a quarrel has taken place. The deceased threw a glass into the face of the accused person. The glass broke and caused small injuries.
“After that the accused took the broken glass and assaulted the deceased person who died due to heavy bleeding.”
This seems like a very silly argument for a person to die over. I can’t stand Barcelona, but everyone knows Messi is better than Ronaldo.
