VIDEO: Turkish Muslims Interviewed Want To Kill All Atheists

religion
The value of a belief system should be how it holds up when placed under close scrutiny, and for most religions, most especially Islam- the responses of some adherents to that scrutiny, leaves a lot to be desired.
Last year alone, about four atheist bloggers were killed by extremists in Bangladesh. We started the year with the horrible Charlie Hebdo attacks in Paris, and fundamentalist Muslims continue to kill and maim anyone who does not follow their depraved religion and God.
The Quran, much like the Bible, contains stretches of graphic violence, with phrases calling for killing the infidels and many other worse things. When followed literally, the results are rarely pleasant.
The below video brilliantly illustrates the corroding influence of religion on morality, contrary to what theists would have you believe. These young men are talking about killing other human beings (atheists), and their religion has made them feel that they would be justified in killing those people. People think religion=morals, but this clearly shows religion ≠morals.
When people see an edict in their holy book, they see it as moral, whether it is actually moral or not. So some Muslims stone gay people and adulteresses to death, and hack atheists to death as well- and they see it as moral. But true morality comes by evaluating whether a certain action would cause suffering to another human being, and in that vein people are moral in spite of, and not because of, their religious beliefs.
The words of the Quran hold so much power over Muslims, which is why its 6th century barbarism posts such a threat to life in the 21st. People would have to learn not to take their holy books seriously, or humanity would be moving backwards rather than forward.
