Fuel Prices Go Up (Again)

total-filling-station
Ghanaians would be met with new and improved fuel prices at the pumps Thursday, after another fuel price increase was announced.
The Chamber of Petroleum Consumers Ghana announced the change with a statement Wednesday, saying a rise in fuel prices on the world market has precipitated the increase.
“Activities and movements in world market prices, which have gone up in the past two weeks, from below $30/barrel to over $36/barrel as of Wednesday, has resulted in an upward adjustment of pump prices across the various bdcs” the statement said.
Which is funny, because I don’t remember Ghanaians getting any significant reduction when the world market price of crude dropped from over $100 per barrel, all the way to its current price of just over $30. Every step of the way that prices were falling, authorities found slew after slew of excuses as to why we had to keep paying more. From bailing out TOR, to that crushing levy that was introduced at the beginning of the year.
It seems no matter no happens on the world market, fuel prices would go up in Ghana; so they should spare us that excuse.
