Father-In-Law Of British Fugitive- Bank Of Ghana Governor Set To Resign

The Governor of the Bank of Ghana, Henry Kofi Wampah, has announced that he would be stepping down from his post at the end of this month.
Wampah was appointed by the President in 2012, and has had a relatively bumpy ride as governor of the central bank during a time of runaway deflation of the cedi and a private sector crippled due to the power crisis.
The governor told Reuters that he has informed the President of his decision to step down.
“I told him I wanted to leave office early and we have agreed that I will exit at the end of March,” Wampah said. “It is just fair to leave early in order to give enough room for my successor, whoever it might be, to settle down before we get to the elections.”
He also told the news agency that one of his two deputies, Millison Narh or Abdul Nashiru Issahaku, would serve as interim governor until the President makes a substantive appointment.
The governor was recently embroiled in controversy when a British drug lord hiding from the law in Ghana was discovered as having married his step-daughter. David McDermott had lived with Ramona Wampah in their influential Burma Hills residence for years now, and the governor had to come out and deny he had any knowledge of the fugitive status of McDermott.
