The President, John Dramani Mahama, has appointed Dr Nashiru Issahaku as the new Governor of the Bank of Ghana.
The appointment became necessary after former governor Henry Kofi Wampah tendered in his resignation at the end of last month.
Dr Issahaku was one of two deputies for Dr Wampah, and has been elevated to the position by the President, the appointment effective Monday, April 4.
Prior to joining the Bank of Ghana, he acted as the Chief Executive Officer of Export Development and Agricultural Investment Fund (EDAIF).
Dr. Issahaku has also worked with the African Development Bank and the World Bank, and holds a Masters in Agric Economics as well as a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of Georgia.
