Techiman City President Accuses Hearts Of Oak Of Doping

Now it’s true that Hearts have made a remarkable turnaround from last season, but an allegation of doping seems a bit much.
The President of Techiman City Fc, Charles Kojo Ntim, has shocked the local football scene with an allegation of doping against Accra Hearts of Oak.
The Phobians remarkable start to the season has got many wondering how coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi turned things around so quickly, after a rotten few years for the club. And Ntim, whose team plays Hearts next, is worried about what might be the underlying reason for their form.
“Article 36 of the GFA regulations talks about doping, and I want the FA to test them (Hearts of Oak) before Sunday’s game in Techiman,” he said.
“I suspect them and so the FA must put in place measures to test them before the game,”
Although farfetched, his accusation raises an interesting point. How prevalent is drug testing in our local game? Doping is a big issue in world sports, sweeping several disciplines, including football itself.
Hearts of Oak lie second on the Ghana Premier League log, after picking up four wins and a draw from the first five games. The team lost their first game this season at the Accra Sports stadium Sunday, when Wa All Stars beat them 3-1.
