Michael Jackson Statue Erected In Park In India

michael-jackson-statue
We prefer Jesus statues down here in Africa, but in India supporters of the late ‘King of Pop’ have erected a statue of him in the Southern city of Chennai.
The statue, a ten foot edifice, is modelled after one of the late legendary performers’ signature poses, used in numerous videos but especially modelled after ‘Beat It’
Die-hard Michael Jackson fan Chandrasekaran commissioned the statue, one he intially planned to send to the Jackson family to be intsalled at the singer’s famous Neverland ranch, but that plan never came to fruition.
“The statue was unveiled at the city’s Vels University by film star Prabhu Deva, famous in India for his Jackson inspired dance moves.” The BBC reports.
Mr Chandrasekaran added that the 3.5 tonne statue was made by six sculptors who took 45 days to chisel it out of a single piece of rock.
