Accra Hearts of Oak coach Kenichi Yatsuhashi is in the news again for unorthodox reasons, after reportedly rejecting his monthly salary and bonuses.
The Japanese headline grabbing coach made the overture because his backroom staff and players had not been paid some outstanding wages.
The coach believes the rest of the team should also be paid their monies before the team’s next game, and is therefore hoping management can do that- thus making him comfortable accepting his remuneration.
Hearts of Oak have been the surprise team of the season so far, after Kenichi had them playing some scintillating football that propelled them to the top of the table until last week’s loss to Wa All Stars.
