Donald Trump may be the presumptive Republican nominee for President, but his troubles with artists not wanting their songs associated with his campaign continues unabated.
The legendary singing group The Rolling Stones have issued a cease and desist letter to the Trump campaign, asking that group’s songs not be used at the businessman’s rallies.
Trump, who has steamrolled his way to the Republican nomination, has had similar troubles in the past. Several hit songs of the Stones, including ‘You Can’t Always Get What You Want’, have opened his rallies.
In the letter issued Wednesday, the group said: “The Rolling Stones have never given permission to the Trump campaign to use their songs and have requested that they cease all use immediately.”
In response, Trump has refuted the allegation, saying he has the right to use their songs.
“You know, we use so many songs,” The real estate mogul told CNBC. “We have the rights to use them. I always buy the rights.”
Other artists who have asked Trump’s campaign to stop using their songs just this election cycle include Adele, Aerosmith and Neil Young.
