2016 VGMA Review: What A Big Joke Once Again As E. L Wins Artiste of the Year & Bisa Kdei Becomes A High Life Pioneer Over Night

VGMA 2016
VGMA 2016

Look; ‘English no be force’—why do African artistes use words they don’t understand and place them in wrong sentences?
Of course, Bisa Kdei just didn’t know how to use the word pioneer—yet he has heard of it and wanted to throw it out there.
It was not only him; Wizkid used the word ‘premeditated’ in the wrong and most absurd way thinkable last night; saying, this did not start today, it started long ago, everything you are seeing today as to how far we have come is premeditated. Perhaps, his award is the one which is premeditated.
And then E.L wins artiste of the year, when you thought MzVee must have slept with someone for that female vocalists award (as the industry mostly says).
Yeah yeah; it’s like E.C announcing that Akua Donkor has won the general elections. That’s something ScrewLife.Com will not even think about saying.
Now, I find it funny, somewhat pathetic that we keep calling KPMG on stage with some brief case to indicate that no one has even see the results, let alone screwed with it—Hehehehe, the audience must really be stupid if this is what it takes to convince them of the credibility of the ‘to be announced awards’.
Look; next time, show us a car with armed policemen protecting the results—that’s a waste of time. Because, couldn’t that briefcase have been given to those people just back stage or the morning before?
Even EC koraa, we say they steal when we have party representatives at the various polling stations such that a party went to the Supreme Court over this.
Stop this joke; if you want to use KPMG to tell us the awards are credible, why don’t you publish the votes for all to see?
Keep distributing your awards but don’t think Ghanaians are douche bags—oh Wizkid won right? Yeah we saw him there so we already knew.
17 years doing this; and you are here because you hate the truth. Take time to review the social media comments; truly, Ghanaians think this is a joke and they follow it because there’s no good alternative. It’s like having Trump and Clinton as candidates, you would surely have to play with the one with lesser ‘jingoism sense’…
Should I write a proper review of the 2016 VGMA? I doubt I would; it will be another waste of time—remember it’s someone’s business and they are allowed to run it how they want it.
If I write a full review; it would purely be for a business reason, traffic–because Charter House says GhanaCelebrities.Com said the truth sometimes back, something they didn’t like so we are already in their black books. LOL
Shout out to Obour and Nadia Buari—and maybe Yvonne Nelson, we saw it all!
And live band too no be force; ah aba!

  1. I sometimes wonder if entertainment and entertainers in this country are serious at all, especially those “Heading them”. You put together this tempered speech and price giving day ceremony and dare have the audacity to invite neighboring country artist to help turn your occasion into laughing stoke. VGMA or whatever they call it, just stop showing it on tv then call your favorite artist and award them personally. because no amount of vote will change anything.

  2. From his own words, I would venture to guess Wizkid had plan on killing someone thrn if he didn’t win…lol. Smh.

  3. Truthfully, the VGMAs is nothing but a big comedy relief. The same things take place each year: bad lighting and sound, poor cinematography, unprofessional presenters, horrible staging(it looks like every major event is hosted at the Accra International Conference Centre), favourtism of various artistes and bad red carpet(it looks like a $20 carpet that one can buy at Party City). To sum it all up, it is nothing but a disappointment and a disaster each year! I often wonder when this nonsense is going to stop but then stop and realise that it’s never going to stop knowing that a lot of Ghanaians in Ghana will still tune in. I have watched award ceremonies from countries like South Korea and it was nothing but professional and very well presented.
