Twitter on Thursday took one of their rarest moves when the social network suspended rapper Azealia Banks for hitting former One Dircection bandmate Zayn Malik with racist tweets.
The pair got into an online war after Banks accused Malik of stealing her material for the music video of his song ‘Like I Would’.
When Malik responded with a curt ‘my a** is too good for you’, an infuriated Banks went on a tirade against Malik- who has Asian roots.
“Lol u a b**** n**** for even responding like that. Keep sucking this yung rapunxel d*** u hairy curry scented b****.” She wrote.
“Imma start calling you punjab you dirty b****.
“You a d*** rider for real for real. Ride this d*** until the wheels fall off Punjab.”
She continued with numerous attacks targeting his ancestry.
“U.S.A IS ABOUT TO TEACH YOU WHO NOT TO F**K WITH!!
“When your entire extended family has been obliterated by good ol the U.S of A will you still be trying to…
“Act like a white boy pretending to be black? Do you understand that you are a sand n***** who emulates white boys’ renditions of black male hood?
“Do you know how lost and culture less you are?”
Malik declined to respond to most of the insults, but his fans kept engaging the controversial rapper, who even turned her ire on UK residents due to that.
Twitter thus suspended her account Thursday. Banks has  a history of similarly controversial and offensive tweets, but she seemed to have crossed a line at this point somehow.
