Generally, accidents which mostly occur through vehicular accidents could be avoided if one decides to be extra careful. Irrespective of how careful one is, these accidents do occur anyways.
Since we come from diverse backgrounds with distinct approaches to life, we all can not possibly think along the same logical line, some are bound to be stupid.
Just last week, the president inaugurated the Komenda Sugar Factory. The factory which is purported to create over 70,000 jobs was closed down just 2 days after its inauguration for a 6 month maintenance. As if the many talks that surrounds this very factory is not enough, 75 workers of the factory had to suffer an accident.
One person is reported dead and several others injured in an accident involving workers of the newly inaugurated Komenda Sugar Factory in the Central Region.
The workers were returning from sugarcane harvest when the Kia truck [GR 878 -11] they were travelling in overturned on a hill at Apewosika in the Komenda-Edina-Aguafo-Abirem area on Monday at about 7:00pm. One of the 75 workers who were on board the truck died on the spot and 62 others sustained various degree of injuries.
The injured were rushed to the Central Regional Hospital where they were treated and discharged The body of the deceased, who is yet to be identified, has been deposited at the hospital’s morgue, a local reporter told Onua Fm.
A survivor, Adjoa Kwansima who confirmed the accident to the host of Yen Sempa, Kwame Karikari, said the driver was climbing the hill when the truck suddenly reversed before it overturned. She said that they were taken to the hospital and discharged but they have been asked to report to the hospital for further checkups.
I guess Kofi Bentil, the policy expert was not far from the truth when he said Komenda Sugar Factory will produce more propaganda than sugar.
