Former President of the Screen Actors Guild, Nii Odoi Mensah, is set to be laid to rest in the capital this weekend.
Nii Odoi Mensah died in China a few months ago, after a battle with kidney problems. The actor had struggled to raise funds for the procedure, before eventually receiving some help from concerned Ghanaians.
The final funeral rites for Odoi Mensah would be held this weekend, commencing with a wake at the forecourt of the Trade Fair Centre in La today (Friday).
The 54 year old would be buried at the La Cemetery on Saturday, followed by a thanksgiving service Sunday at the Adabraka Presbyterian Church.
The funeral is expected to attract several prominent personalities in the realm of showbiz, as well as the Minister of Tourism and Creative Arts, Elizabeth Ofosu Agyare, who was instrumental in getting his body from China back to Ghana for burial.
Nii Odoi Mensah died on April 12, 2016, in China. He was a veteran of cinema in Ghana, and served as President of the Ghana Actors Guild.
