Mr. Emile Short, a former head of Commission For Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ, has stated that the much-publicized car gift saga dents Ghana’s image on the international scene.
Speaking to Accra-based Class FM, he also added that the investigative piece, which was led by Joy FM’s Manasseh Azure, is pretty bad for President John Mahama’s reputation. “It is a serious allegation that affects the image of the president as well as the country,” he said
Mr. Short however did not sate clearly whether the president actions can be branded as corrupt or not.
“In light of the fact that divergent views have been expressed about whether the gift is a bribe or not, I would not be surprised if the matter goes to CHRAJ. It is a matter of public interest, which affects the image of the country,” he said.
