Abraham Attah has no locally acquired foreign accent and therefore was ridiculed on radio by some sort of local champions a few months ago—but today, Abraham Attah is having the last big laugh.
A group of local radio champions who have sat in Accra and have acquired a confusing accent which they pride themselves mocked Abraham, 15, because they claimed he delivered an appalling caused by his rather Ghanaian accent.
The mocking caused a social media outburst—as many Ghanaians on the back of a campaign I started came out to defend young Abraham and slaughtering the radio presenters-Jay Foley, Lexis Bill and MzGee with barrage of insults.
Abraham Attah heard of it and even took to instagram to respond, saying;
l know that some of the radio presenters in Ghana are saying I gave a bad speech at the independent spirit awards. They don’t know what happen to me. I thought was not going to win so I decided not to write any speech down. I was so surprise when she mention my name. I didn’t know what to say when I went up there.
Social Media literally forced these grown ups child laughing presenters to apologise to Abraham Attah who was then out of the country.
On his returned, Abraham Attah stated among other things that, he was not looking to feature in any Ghanaian movie—he was confident and knew what he wanted or his true worth.
Today, Abraham Attah has scored a role in one of the biggest, most popular and commercially successful Marvel’s production-Spider-Man: Homecoming where he will not only star alongside some of Hollywood’s finest but will make it to every cinema on this planet.
Considering where Abraham Attah came from and how quickly he has jumped the hurdles to play on the big table, if you ever defended him, be proud you did—especially against what could have easily killed his confidence.
He’s on the rise and what about the mockers? They remain where he left them with their FAKE accents.
