CHRIS-VINCENT Writes: Sarkodie's Risible Diss-Track to M.anifest…Spot the Irony As We Close the Curtains

M.anifest
M.anifest

My last message on this—spot the irony.
M.anifest grew up in America; he has seen it all—he owns a credit card, Sarkodie doesn’t even have that simple plastic.
Yet Sarkodie who grew up in Ghana and only started traveling about 6 years ago says, the child who played in Footlocker is somewhat whack, because he wears GTP in a kaba style.
And what does the kid himself wear? He wears “akata”, what M.anifest grew up on and has evidently ditched.
Sarkodie goes to perform in America and that’s him at his peak—he just visits and he shares several photos on social media. This is the same America the other dude grew up in, attended school and obtained a degree from, that he left behind.
The truth is; one of these people wants to be like the other—one is insecure in his skin and is obsessed with everything foreign.
“Bitch, Nigga and others’ make up the American vulgar—the one who grew up there and naturally has the accent does not even care to employ them in a diss—yet the one who grew up at Tema is so obsessed with those words.
Hmmm—I am taking a break to watch Marco Polo Season 2 Episode 7.

  1. So debt (credit card) and growing in the US make you better than Ghanaian born. The ‘writer’ is the one suffering from inferior complex. Just base your argument on merit and not nkwasiasem

    • I am sure you don’t get the irony; all he is saying is Sarkodie wants to be western when the person who had the opportunity to be western does not want it and he is being slammed for that. Sarkodie has not even got the basics of the West like credit cards. Do you read at all

      • If Sark wants to be western then Mani also wants to be western cos Men in Kaba is not our thing….the only place in the world that men wear kilt is Scotland so please come again, am saying this cos thats where Sarks point is , man in GTP kaba….if that is fashion ,,,then yeesus rag designs is equally fashion

    • listen to the gh born’s song and all you’ll hear is him saying he’s international and US born only wear gtp which is GH textile. the writer is trying to say the ghanaian born is glorifying those stuff that the US guy already knew and understands how it can impact and strip you off.

  2. Manifest did not grow up in America, he went to UPS at Legon (he was the school prefect, I was a few years behind him) then he went to SOS high school. Then he went to college in America. So when you say he grew up in America, what do you mean ?I get your angle on Sarkodie trying to be “American” (which pisses me off),but don’t mislead your followers here.

      • @dan.. massa aden? you bore?it’s just a point I was raising.Abeg make u no bore waii, lol. All im saying is that Manifest left Ghana after High school. That’s why I said he should explain what he means by Manifest growing up in America, so that people don’t get the wrong impression that he spent his childhood there. That’s all.

  3. Chirs, this is exactly what i have been telling my friends, Guys like Wanlov, Kweku Tutu and Reggie ROckstone who grew up abroad and “saw it all” went through that phase and realized that their ancestral heritage was their real heritage…Whereas guys like Sark, Shata and the rest who lived their lives in Gh and idolized the Western lifestyle which they saw on TV construed that as superior. Ergo, the kid that grew up abroad got attached to his heritage whereas the kid who grew up in the motherland felt that his culture is inferior the “akata way is the real way”

  8. And before you condemn Sark it was Manifest who blew it out of proportion, Sark showed Manifest respect in his Bossy track and i quote: Manifest misere wo mami usi wo do do do ti do to end my verse, if you dont understand twi, i tanslate for you; ”Manifest please let me use your do do ti do to end my verse……absolute respect and commendation of Manifests works and Talent,,,and what did Manifest do? record a diss song to thank him,,,Y’all leave Sark alone ,,,,,,,if its a rap battle he can handle it anyhow he wants to…..tired of y’all onesided no 9 fellas
