Shatta Wale is making commercial moves to capitalise on a new market, even if his public utterances doesn’t seem to indicate a man with much business acumen.
Turns out the loudmouthed artiste born Charles Nii-Armah Mensah actually has quite a few plans, and he has been making quite moves to capture the Caribbean market for a while now.
Shatta recently appointed Kimberly Campbell to be his representative in the region, and the fruit of that appointment was another gem he announced a short while later, the collaboration with Gaza Empire’s Shawn Storm.
“Ms. Campbell is a known music executive who has a lot to offer and I am excited we are currently working with her.” Shatta revealed his plans in a recent interview.
“She has been instrumental in my yet to be released project with Shawn Storm, the right hand man of the biggest Dancehall musician of our time, the World Boss Vybz Kartel, of the famous Gaza Empire. This is a song that I know will be loved by all dancehall lovers around the globe and I cannot wait for its commercial release in the coming weeks. This is certainly going to signify the beginning of other projects with the Gaza Empire going forward and other great musicians in the dancehall fraternity,”
Shatta said the expansion is coming about because he feels he has conquered Ghana and thus needs to broaden his horizons.
“I think I have done a lot in Ghana and there is a need to penetrate into certain strategic markets across the African continent and the rest of the world. The focus now is the Caribbean and how to make an impact there with my music. There will be some collaborations with some of the best musicians in the dancehall fraternity as well as appearances at some key events going forward. That is the direction I am taking with my music at the moment”.
According to the one and only ‘dancehall king’, he and his team would be travelling to Jamaica in a short while to carry out some important projects.
