Oheneyere Gifty Anti says people cannot expect her to stop being who she is and recede into the background just because she married a chief, saying that she’s not a normal chief’s wife.
Oh, and she also added that people should stop bothering her with pregnancy rumours as she’s not pregnant.
Gifty Anti was speaking with ace comedian and satirist Kwaku Sintim Misa on Metro Tv.
“I am not pregnant, doctors have not confirmed anything, people started sending me messages, congratulations, we thank God, God works in mysterious ways.” She said.
She also added that some people are uncomfortable with her still making so many prominent media appearances, but said she cannot be expected to change just because she got married.
“We are all different people coming from different backgrounds, the chief knew what I was doing before he married me so I can’t suddenly go quiet. I think I should have asked a lot of questions before getting married to a chief. I’m not a normal chief’s wife, I’m an abnormal chief’s wife because I was in the media already, I’m a gender activist, I’m a feminist, people knew me for who I am and I can’t suddenly sit back, go quiet and do nothing” she added.
Gifty also talked about some of the interesting things that happened to her when people thought she was pregnant.
“..The interesting thing, I went to braid my hair and this lady comes, ‘oh Gifty no, you shouldn’t sit on the chair, they need to give you a foam to sit on, it’s not good’, they brought me a foam, then she said ‘no, your legs shouldn’t be on the floor, it should be on something’, they brought a chair and you have been sitting for too long and you should get up that’s what the pregnant women do, but I’m not pregnant,”
