It seems there is no honour too great to be bestowed upon Cristiano Ronaldo.
The island of Madeira, where the national team captain hails from, has decided to honour the Real Madrid forward for leading the team to a win at the just ended European Championships in France.
And in typical fashion for an extravagant man, the island’s main international airport is what is going to be named after him – from Madeira International Airport to Cristiano Ronaldo Airport.
Already, a hotel and a museum on the island bears the 31 year old’s name, not to speak of a giant statue.
Ronaldo hails from the city of Funchal on the island. He captained Portugal to her first major international success earlier this month, when they beat hosts France in the final of Euro 2016.
