President John Dramani Mahama sent out a tweet early Saturday with a strange message, news that he has been adjudged the ‘world’s best President’ is false, a hoax.
To which I reply, really? You think I don’t know that?
I’m currently typing this article from the discomfort of my incredibly hot room because ECG has decided that suffering twelve hours yesterday was not enough, so they took me off this morning as well.
I’m living in a country where prizes of goods and services has skyrocketed so high that, just to take one metric – transport fares have more than tripled the past six years – I doubt any normal citizen’s salary has done that within the same time frame.
We live in a country where a government spends Ghc 3m to brand buses, but the nation’s largest hospital has to stop performing surgeries, inevitably leading to many deaths.
So Mr President, you needn’t have bothered. If the Pope himself arrived from the Vatican with news that God himself has adjudged you the best President, I would politely tell him, and God, to go ‘you know’ themselves.
ScrewLife.Com dupes Ghanaians all the time, but even gullibility has limits, and whatever news the President was debunking has to be it. Noway any Ghanaian was falling for that.
