With the 2016 elections approaching, certain Ghanaian Celebrities have taken strong political sides and those who have not are being extra cautious—so they are not tainted as publicity campaigning for a particular political party.
Actors Guild of Ghana paid a visit to President Mahama following his mother’s death a few days ago and Christabel Ekeh who was part of the entourage took a selfie with President Mahama—which she posted on instagram yesterday.
Moment after she posted the photo, some followers sort of interpreted it as she supporting JM and launched their usual intolerant social media assault.
In an attempt to say she is neither for the NDC or NPP, Christabel Ekeh quickly uploaded another photo, this time of herself and former President Kufuor of the NPP.
A follower commented on the photo of Christabel and Kufuor, saying, “Better now, nt the previous one JM.”
It does seem Ghanaian Celebrities are not allowed to support any political party apart from the NPP—which is totally absurd and embodies lack of respect for people’s right to choose.

NPP is highly intolerant and they will descend on you with fire if you declare yourself against them. That’s why Christabel is afraid!
